Beef event rakes in over 100 farmers

SAC Consulting recently organised a successful beef event in Wooler with a turnout of more than 100 farmers. Teaming up with Lilburn Estates, the consultancy company managed to organise a first class event which has been considered a major success for the companies and farmers involved.

A wealth of different farmers attended the event, some even travelling from as far away as Nottingham. One of the local farmers stated that he was impressed with the event and thought the chance to view Lilburn’s system and produce was highly valuable. Many farmers that attended took the opportunity to network with others, sharing interesting experiences and finding out the developments within the meat industry.

The event began at one of the farms near Wooler, where the attendees were put into different groups. Each group got to visit different aspects of the farm to discuss everything from feeding to veterinary treatments. From here, the groups moved to Hetton Village Hall, where vets from SAC explained a bit about different cattle diseases.

An employee from SAC Consulting introduced the event and was thrilled with the turnout. He hoped that the event would give people a more in-depth knowledge of breeding cattle and staying on top of the tough industry. According to reports, people went away well informed about cattle breeding after lots of discussion and expert advice.

One of the aspects of the event was explaining how cattle are controlled when grazing, as well as highlighting the need to maximise grass fed beef, as this is the cheapest and the healthiest option.
